NADA ACTIVITIES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  - December 6 through December 9, 2012

The New Art Dealers Alliance is proud to announce the 2012 edition of NADA Miami Beach, which will mark the organization’s ten year anniversary. NADA Miami Beach 2012 will take place December 6th through December 9th, 2012, returning to the historic Deauville Beach Resort. The fair continues to vigorously pursue its goal of showcasing the best of emerging contemporary art, with exhibitors representing 25 cities from 14 different countries. This year’s fair includes over 60 international galleries with 22 first-time-exhibitors at NADA Miami Beach.

“NADA is very proud to be celebrating its tenth anniversary in Miami Beach,” said Director Heather Hubbs. “Each year, the fair has continued to move forward in both quality and collector support and 2012 looks to be the strongest edition to date.”

ARTADIA

Artadia is delighted to partner with NADA Miami Beach this December, where we will give an unrestricted $4,000 award to an artist exhibiting artwork at the fair in any booth. The selected artist will also join the Artadia family and receive all lifetime privileges of the Artadia awardees, including access to Artadia’s national network, the option to participate in Artadia programs, such as our New York Residency program, our publications and exhibitions program and professional services. The award is generously funded by Artadia founder and president Christopher E. Vroom and will be announced on Friday, December 7th at 2pm.

A jury compromising of two internationally renowned curators will walk through the fair on its opening day, Thursday, December 6, to determine the award recipient. The names of the jurors will be announced on Friday, December 7.

NADA POOL PARTY

NADA and Friends and Family have joined forces to create an extraordinarily fun, free and open to the public Pool Party taking place on Saturday, December 8th: 2pm – 7pm at the Deauville pool.

NADA VIDEO PROGRAM

Under My Skin

curated by Grela Orihuela

A phrase lifted from the lyrical echoes of Sinatra in the very same spot where the Ratpack threw back the Jack in Miami. The impetuous ghosts of the original jetset commingle with an international medley of video artists in a program curated by Grela Orihuela located in the Jazz Club. Under My Skin is an exhibition of body and soul, its characters and conceptions insinuating their yearning and conflicting passions into the cool, dark confines of this historic venue’s iconic lounge.

Soon enough Miami will be overtaken by art… well, the art market, in a display of crass commercialism that flaunts a disgusting amount of wealth. But we get it. You want to partake and rub elbows with Europeans in funny clothing and New Yorkers with zero sense of humor — we do too! And luckily, you can, because a lot of the art fairs, gallery shows, and exhibits are open to the public, even if for a price.

We’ve taken the obscene task of compiling all that there is to do and be seen during the week of Art Basel Miami Beach 2012, also referred to as Miami Art Week by the plebs.

"Dear Deauville Management"
Reviewed May 4, 2013

My name is Sophia E. Martinez and I am the Event Coordinator for the FortuneBuilders Real Estate Insider Summit. We held our event this weekend, May 3-5, at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami Beach and we were thoroughly impressed with the staff for the entire 3 Days. I am not talking a few select people, I am talking about Yahaira Torres and team; Marta Cotarelo, Glenn Addis, Set Up Team and restaurant management. Yahaira Torres and team operates truly as a team and made it very clear that they were committed to doing whatever it took to make our event a success. Its not often I work with hotels and have a consisted dedicated contact for the entire 3 days. I felt well taken care of and all request were meet with a smile. Any hotel that places this high a priority on service deserves our business again. I have copied my manager on this message and also let her know verbally how great it was to work with your staff at the Deauville Beach Resort, Miami Beach, FL. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sincerely, Sophia E. Martinez Event Coordinator

Deauville Beach Resort is almost perfect. Before booking I was very nervous because there are plenty of pleasant reviews and many poor reviews. I booked here for one week in April. The weather was amazing. We arrived at the resort at 1245pm and our room was not ready so we got wristbands to hang out by the pool and bar area which makes this resort a plus! By 2pm we were settled into our room. Carolina did a fantastic job checking us in, although we booked a king bed we got two beds. We were on the 16th floor with a newly renovated. Great view & clean. Being here for a week everyone made us feel at home. I did not want to leave. DaLida and Luciana by the bar were awesome!! Customer service was great! The music by the tiki bar and dj saturday night was very fun. Carlos & Karina were great front desk agents that I encountered when I had a request. The Cafe down on the lower level had delicious meals and awesome staff.

Were able to check in early and gave us a new remodeled room. He was very curious and helpful with our questions..he made us feel at ease when we had to wait and did everything he could to get us in our room early with no extra fees! Chris answered any questions we had and made us feel at excited about our stay..hotel is beautiful and if the rest of the staff is as nice as Chris I can't wait to interact with every single one..5 stars!!!

"Excellent Resort”"
5 of 5 starsReviewed April 15, 2013

Had a wonderful exprience for my birthday in February 2013. View from 12th floor is amazing. Wilie Acosta in Security was extremely helpful with finding great restaurants and nightly entertainment) Had a wonderful waitress who served us our lunch out on the beach. Only bad thing that we found was the price for parking ...$30.00 per night was a bit much. I plan on going back this coming week and can not wait to get there.

"“Great place to stay with a large group”"
5 of 5 starsReviewed March 11, 2013

Stayed here for a couple days with a large group - I was very satisfied with the amenities and spaciousness of the rooms. It was a wonderful experience for me and my friends. The service was great, the front desk was extremely helpful and patient. Pool and beach were very nice...loved the hot tub!! Only downside is room service took quite a while to bring things to our rooms, or sometimes did not bring our requests at all.

"Good Times”"
5 of 5 starsReviewed March 5, 2013

My stay was good, the staff was accomodating. They had great showers, food, the pool was awesome, so was the view. The lobby is nice and big, and so are the rooms. The only things I didn't like so much was the meticulous nature of the staff, they wouldn't let anything slide. In addition, the room's air conditioning was either too strong or too weak..

“awesome hotel”
5 of 5 starsReviewed March 4, 2013

i had a great experience here (march 3rd 2013), i was filming a video and everyone was just so nice about it, the view was to die for,the lobby and bar area was just so beautiful , i loved that it was across from walgreens i got to run across the street and get a few things i needed, the staff responded to my request very quickly, very nice people, the manager was just awesome, everything was explained at the front desk before checking in,(fees) i mean i had a great time over all and will be going there again, five stars for you guys from Jade Passion.

"Pleasant Stay"
5 of 5 starsReviewed February 5, 2013

We were wondering how it was going to be here after reading several negative reviews. We were pleasantly surprised and not disappointed. The accomodations here are comfortable and clean. We had a nice view from our (standard) room and I really liked the walk-in closet. I saw no hours posted anywhere for the fitness center though. The pool area was very nice and in general there are plenty of places to sit. Of course the beach is so convenient and inviting. We both agreed we would definitely stay here again.
One glitch was with the concierge. We had made a reservation with a deposit for a taxi to take us to the airport. It was not there at the requested time. When we came down then they called for it and said it would be 10 mintues. Why make a reservation then? When the transportation did finally arrive, we found out there were other people going with us. If we would have known that was the case, we could have just taken the airport shuttle then.

"Wondereful and Accommodating Staff"
5 of 5 starsReviewed February 1, 2013

To the staff of the Deauville: I just wanted to say thank you very much for a job well done. You made my life very easy this week...which I am extremely grateful for. Everyone in my group was very impressed by the food and the service. Yahaira, Gabriel and Aramis (the bartender at the pool in the evenings) were especially fantastic.

My husband surprised me with a weekend get a way for our anniversary. Upon checking in we were given a room that we were not satisfied with. I called the front desk to complain about it and in a matter of minutes Claudio (Customer Service Manager) was knocking on our door. He gave us a tour of a better room and we were given the option to either stay where we were or change to the other room. He was very professional and attentive to our needs. Our room was great! The view was amazing! The beach breath taking. It was a wonderful weekend. I am so looking forward to returning. I highly recommend this resort.

He was very nice and very professional. We really had a great time. We are looking forward to our next stay. I highly recommend this hotel. It has an awesome view of the beach and their pool and bar are a plus.

This is always a great hotel and a great location when you're in Miami Beach. You can walk to many places, and the pool and beach are a lot of fun. I've attended many Ballroom Dance Competitions in this hotel, and staff is always helpful and friendly.

"Worried about reviews but they were wrong"
5 of 5 starsReviewed January 19, 2013

I booked this trip on Hotwire without knowing the name of the hotel. As soon as I saw Deauville Beach Resort, I came to Trip Advisor and was...horrified. With no refunds i was stuck, almost to the point of eating the $700 and finding another place to stay. We decided we would give it a go and had very low expectations. What a pleasant surprise!!! We arrived about noon for a 4pm check-in. No problem parking in the garage 1/2 a block away. They checked our bags and gave us a resort pass so that we could use the pool and beach. We walked past the pool which appeared to be really nice. The Tiki bar was open and hopping. We went straight to the beach where a pleasant young lady got us 2 beach chairs that were included in the resort fee. Another young lady appeared soon after and kept us in drinks all afternoon. We checked in at 4pm with no hassles. The young lady at the desk was pleasant and helpful. We were on the 9th floor. The room was old no doubt. It wad been recently updated, but some of the outlets didnt work. The bathroom was clean. The shower rod had a little rust on it, but that was all i could find wrong with the room. I didn't experience any of the issues that others have said about the staff or bad rooms etc. For the money, you cant beat the location. it aint the ritz, but its not Motel 6 either.

Room Tip: The 9th floor is all i know and appeared to all be nice

"Amazing hotel with great views of Miami Beach "
5 of 5 starsReviewed January 19, 2013

My friends and I recently went to a wedding in Florida and decided to take a road trip to Miami for a couple of days we got a great rate on the room at the Deauville after a friend recommended it for Value for money the only down side to the room was that it was very basic but i suppose the view from the room most certainly underpinned that, we stayed on the 11th Floor and the views where awesome it was a 5 minute taxi ride to South beech and there where plenty of local bars and fast food joints in the area. I have recommended to other friends to stay here the room was clean the staff where friendly and the bar off to the side of the lobby had all the drinks that we could ask for. Cant wait for my next stay in Miami i will be staying here again. Thanks Deauville Beach Resort for a great 2 nights stay

Nice Room, Nice view, comfy bed and pilows, the lobby was nice deorated, the staff wasn't helpfull, looks like they didn't like to work there! The breakfast was poor, we expect more!
Nice Pool, don't have too much restaurant options on walk distances. But Was a Great Stay!

"A pleasant stay! Hotel was a little bit old, but everything we needed was there"
5 of 5 starsReviewed January 17, 2013

Before we came, we read the reviews, here's what we encountered: hotel is old and some rooms are not renovated yet. You not gonna like them, unless you are on a budget. First, we went to standard oceanfront room on a 9th floor. Didnt like it. With the help of the manager Claudio Ruiz, who was personally showing us the available rooms, we upgraded to a better room on a 16th floor(upgrade will cost you $30-$50 a day). That room was very good!! Spacious, renovated, enough closet space, nice balcony with a chairs, all new bathroom, nice king size bed-comfortable! Location is great(try Norman's grill-yummy!) Beach and pool are right there. Very friendly stuff! Good gym, beautiful lobby. We found the manager of the hotel, Claudio Ruiz,to be very helpfull and accomodating!! Overall, nice stay if you get the renovated rooom.

we came to the hotel and we met in the lobby some fellow finns. they told us, how disappointed they have been here. they told us, that room are ugly and in bad shape. I had also read some bad reviews at home after we had booked. We had the same impression.
Then we got our room for three nights. The room was exactly as in the pictures! We are satisfied!
Room is beautiful and we like the colors: grey, blue and cream!
The only thing that we would to have is a makeup mirror in the bathroom.

TWe stayed in November at the hotel, the location is pretty nice, unfortunately there is no parking lot, but every day there are lots of places to park across the street. The attention at the front desk was not very good, but the beach is right next to the hotel, and that makes it all better..

I guess we were lucky and got an updated room because the room was fine, the bed was comfortable and we even had a postcard view of the beach out our widow. The restaurant was overpriced but we still had a good Cuban sandwich. I recommend going over across the street to one of several restaurants. For breakfast I highly recommend going to the lower level where the beach access is, going out the front door to the street and immediately to your left built into the wall of the hotel is a little Cuban bakery. Very nice to get a pastry and coffee and head on to the beach. The beach is gorgeous and you can walk for miles. You get 2 beach chairs. The pool is in rough shape with lots of paint chips, but I still went for a swim. The Jacuzzi was nice and hot. The ti-ki hut people were very nice. I really liked having Walgreens across the street, very convenient, and liked the beach boardwalk. I would come back, especially for the price I paid. Stayed November 2012, traveled with friends

Great value, excellent location

This is a hotel that could use a makeover, but if you want new, you probably are willing to spend several hundred plus a night more. The hotel next door was charging $750 per night. The hotel is right on the beach. Yes the rooms and entrance areas are dated, but were clean. If you want a beach vacation, this is a great place. You can take the bus to south beach, our walk several miles in either direction along the walkway or the beach itself. I would not rent a car. Instead, take a cab from the airport - rental cars are expensive in Miami. My wife and I stayed here two nights and enjoyed are time here. There are restaurants within walking distance. Room Tip: ask for the beach front room , traveled as a couple

We are pleased with our experience but have some recommendations..... - this hotel is a bus ride from South Beach but the bus is very cheap 2 dollars to go anywhere on that route the S bus takes you to South Beach one way and aventura mall the other way (well worth an evening visit.) - the pool and beach are excellent and you will not be disapointed. - there is a supermarket directly opposite that is good value for money and vital for drinks, crisps and souviners etc. - there are some fanatics resturants Normans is very good an American bar and grill opposite which also offers excellent value for money. - there is an excellent pizza shop opposite also that gives another option for cheap eating as south beach is very expensive so by eating near the hotel first you can then get the bus to south beach for drinks. - I reccomend upgrading or booking a superior ocean front room, we upgraded whilst there and the room was beautiful with a balcony looking out over the beach and sea..... Incredible view. The other rooms don't have balconies although all are well air conditioned. - the hotel offers tours through a third party company that are very good and the best price around. Overall we had a superb stay and were very happy......great location if you don't mind getting the bus to south beach for a night out (they are cheap and run all night). Very clean with free pool and beach towels. Ignore bad reviews this hotel is as described online, it's no 5 star but a definite three and the superior ocean front rooms are incredible well worth paying extra for.

Excellent hotel

The ocean front room 1611 on the 16th floor was very nice, beautiful view. The beach and the pool were absolute amazing. The room very clean and the bed were very comfortable? The lobby was big and beautiful. However if clean and staff were polite and nice.

“Beach and Pool are incredible - strongly recommend you upgrade to a superior room.”

“Very nice location, outstanding employees”
4 of 5 starsReviewed September 1, 2012 I stayed at the Deauville Beach Resort for a couple of months and I enjoy every minute of my time. The service and staff were outstanding. The staff was very friendly, when I need extra service the housekeeping staff is always willing the assist me. The front desk staff always polite to me and help me with any concern I have. The hotel is always kept clean. Security officers are always patrolling so you feel safe all the time. The noise level is very good so you know you going to have a quiet sleep. My next stay in Miami will surely be the Deauville Beach Resort. Just want to take this time to thank all the staff, securities and managers for a great job they're doing on a daily basis at the beautiful Deauville Beach Resort

“Decent hotel”

The oceanfront room on the 14th floor was very nice, beautiful view (though the loud AC on the balcony is a bit annoying and it is too hot to sit out there in the morning sun). The beach and the water were absolutely amazing. The pool also very good, though when it's crowded there isn't anywhere to sit and the service is spotty. Loved the Spanish/dance music they played, with a live DJ on the weekend. They close the pool at sunset and we managed to sneak in for a quick dip but got kicked out about 10 minutes later.
